Marni for H&M and Jason Wu for Target!

These upcoming affordable designer collaborations were recently announced. How exciting! I completely missed out on the previous Versace and Missoni collaborations, and will probably miss these as well simply because I shy away from shopping experiences that require navigating hoards of people (never even bother with Black Friday). Even still, I can't wait to see what they come up with! I absolutely adore Marni, and I'd love to snag a pair of those shoes if they don't sell out on the first day.

The Sassy Gay Friend Test

My friend Lina and I are big fans of the YouTube sensation, Sassy Gay Friend. The Sassy Gay Friend is the beloved sequined-scarf-clad individual who saves meek and deluded women in literature from degrading or unhealthy relationships by restoring their confidence in totally platonic ways.

Exhibit A:
The Sassy Gay Friend saves Eve from damning the female sex by advising her to go shopping instead of eating the apple.

Exhibit B:
Juliet is on the verge of killing herself over Romeo, but the Sassy Gay Friend intervenes.

Exhibit C:
Here, the Sassy Gay Friend saves the Giving Tree from the boy who played in her shade, and then "cut her like a bitch!".

So the next time you find yourself agonizing over a compromising situation with your significant other, ask yourself, "Would my Sassy Gay Friend let me despair over this guy/girl?".

If the answer is "No"...  MOVE ON. Your hair has never looked better!

Pointed Desire

I cannot decide which sharp pair of sunglasses I should buy. I'm obsessed with the retro revival of cat-eye sunglasses. Classic Ray-Bans sort of match the look, but I'm looking for something more dramatic.

10. Awake87 Black Cat Eye Sunglasses on Etsy $10

Right now I'm leaning towards either going all out with the super snazzy Tom Fords, or skipping the big bill on this one with the disposable fashion ModCloth dupes. Love love love love love this look... Nothing really says dangerous, borderline-bitchy yet super cool, calm, and cute at the same time like a little sunny cat-eye attitude.

Thanksgiving 2011

This Thanksgiving break I've been sick, so instead of shopping and playing with my friends I've been taking long naps between meals. But I managed to get out of bed and help with the Thanksgiving spread. I love the holidays at my house!

I love the fresh flowers placed in beer bottles for decoration.

I'm actually a vegetarian, so even though we have two turkeys at my house every year, I'm most excited for the pies and cakes!

Pretty glasses.
The post-meal walk is always so lovely. It was really a beautiful day.

I took all these pictures, but my photographer cousin Patrick (who writes foodbeerlife.com) took this one of me:

So much to be thankful for.

Handwriting and Typewriting

I've accumulated a collection of images containing written words and typed quotes from sappy romance book, songs, and whatnot.
I like these.
