Bottle Lights in the Philippines

My mom emailed me this incredible video. It shows how social entrepreneurs in the Philippines have created cheap, carbon-neutral lighting for low-income homes by affixing plastic bottles in tin rooftops.  How truly simple and brilliant. Growing up in an industrialized country, technology has given us so many convenient comforts but has also made green solutions like solar energy seem foreign and complex. After seeing this, our whole process of burning fuel to make electricity to light buildings during the daytime really does seem like a silly Rube Goldberg project.
